尤其是假期时间，很多业务趋于暂停。大部分办公室都空了，计算机也被关闭，使得僵尸网络在这时候也没有什么大的作为。垃圾邮件发布者也经常利用这段假期时间，短暂休整一段时间。刚刚过去的春节假期同样也无法阻止垃圾邮件发布者利用新的手段吸引用户点击他们的垃圾邮件。淘宝网好店最近，垃圾邮件发布者最常用的手段之一是利用优惠券，提高垃圾邮件广告中商品的需求量。德国药品类垃圾邮件发布者证明，如果为垃圾邮件接收者提供优惠10%的“限量优惠券”，能够有效提高他们所销售药品的销量。
“目前，我们还未检测到伪装成优惠券的恶意附件，淘宝网店推荐但是，预计这类恶意威胁迟早会出现。”卡巴斯基实验室高级垃圾邮件分析师Maria Namestnikova警告说：“任何在互联网上的销售或推广手段最后都会被垃圾邮件发布者所采用。最早，新的推广手段主要由合作伙伴项目参与者使用，通过发送垃圾邮件推广药品或仿冒的奢侈品。之后，这些手段逐渐会用来推广恶意代码。”
